Joyce Ann Luck

Joyce Ann Luck of Chester, VA, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 1, 2026. She was born in Wytheville, VA, and was the daughter of the late Howard and Margaret Shelton.

She was married to her husband, Ronald Luck, for 49 years. Joyce earned her Doctor of Education degree from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University. She served as the assistant superintendent for human resources in Chesterfield County Public Schools.

After she retired, Joyce enjoyed skeet and trap shooting, golfing, and spending time outdoors. Joyce was an elite marksman, which earned her numerous medals and awards. She was happiest being outdoors in the sunshine while tending to her trees and observing wildlife.

Joyce is survived by several loving family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, children, and brother.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 8, 2026, at 10:00am at the Chester Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held directly after the visitation at 11:00am. Interment will follow at Appomattox Cemetery in Hopewell, VA.
