Joshua Abram Frye

It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of Joshua Abram Frye, on February 18, 2026. He was 27 years old and would have celebrated his 28th birthday on February 19. Josh is now reunited with those who preceded him in death, including his MaMaw, Grandaddy, and father-in-law.

His greatest joy in life was his family. He was a perfect husband to Vanessa, and an incredible father to his children, Jensen and Hunter. Being a daddy was the role he cherished most. His children were his world, and he spent most of his time loving and spoiling them.

He was the son of Barry Frye and Penny Humphrey, and loved by his stepfather, Tim Humphrey as his own. He was a loyal brother to Jacob and Jared; a proud brother-in-law to Stacey and Keri; and a loving uncle to Evee and Kayden. He was also deeply loved by his father-in-law, Sterling; Vanessa's Stepmothers; and her whole family.

Josh faced the world with determination and heart, choosing his own path and standing firm in who he was. He was always willing to help a friend in need, never hesitating to offer his time, his strength, or his support to those he cared about. That spirit, along with his love and generosity, will live on in his children, in his family, and in every life he touched.

Those who knew Josh will remember his presence, his strength, and the way he showed up for the people he loved. Whether through laughter, quiet support, or simply being there when it mattered most, he made an impact that will never fade. His life, though far too short, was filled with purpose and love.

While we struggle to understand why his time with us ended so soon, we find comfort in the legacy he leaves behind in his children, in his family, and in the countless memories that will forever live in our hearts.

A celebration of Josh's life will be held at a later date. The family asks that you keep Vanessa, Jensen, Hunter, and all who loved him in your thoughts and prayers during this unimaginable time. He will be profoundly missed and never forgotten.
