Joseph G. Smith, 70, of Dendron, passed away on Wednesday, April 18, 2012. Born in Gatesville, NC, he was the son of the late Wilber and Agnes Darden Smith. He retired from Gwaltney Packing as a maintenance crew leader after 18 years.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Nancy L. Smith; son, Michael D. Smith of Dendron; sister, Carolyn Carter and her husband, Dickie of Chesapeake; and brother, Talmadge Smith of Chesapeake.
There will be a private burial and the family is being served by the Wakefield Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. Condolences may be posted at www.jtmorriss.com .
