John Wayne Wyatt, 82, of Enon, Virginia, passed away peacefully at his home on July 24, 2025.
John was born on December 17, 1942, in Hopewell, Virginia. He graduated from Hopewell High School (1962) and studied at Danville Technical Institute. Following his college studies, he worked as a draftsman for Allied Chemical. John was a devoted deacon and an active member of Enon Baptist Church, where his deep faith guided every aspect of his life.
A true family man, John cherished spending time with loved ones, especially during family vacations to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. His grandchildren were his pride and joy, and he found great happiness in watching them grow. Like his father before him, John was drawn to the rivers of Virginia, spending countless hours as a commercial fisherman on the Appomattox and James rivers - waters he loved deeply.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 58 years, Paulette Barron Wyatt; his daughter, Melanie Ann Wyatt (Wendy); his son, John Wayne Wyatt II (Tonia); grandchildren, Jake Bauer, Johnathan Wyatt, and Savannah Wyatt; his sister, Ann Wyatt Mastro; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and lifelong friends.
John was predeceased by his parents, Annie Lee (Moore) Wyatt and George Washington Wyatt; his sister, Maude Lee Wyatt Brown; and his brother, George Washington Wyatt, Jr. "Toby".
The family will receive friends from 1:00 - 2:00 p.m., at Enon Baptist Church, on Tuesday, July 29, 2025, with a funeral service to follow at 2:00 p.m.
A private interment will follow at a later date at Sunset Memorial Park, 2901 W. Hundred Road, Chester, Virginia 23831.
The family kindly requests donations be made to Enon Baptist Church or the Michael J. Fox Parkinson's Foundation for Parkinson's research at www.give.michaeljfox.org.
John's legacy of faith, love, and quiet strength will live on in all who knew him.
