John Poole Spence

John Poole Spence, 77, of Hopewell passed away on Wednesday, January 28, 2015. Born in Dinwiddie, Virginia, he was the son of the late Alvin and Lucy Riddle Spence and was preceded in death by his wife, Linda Spence; brother, Junie Spence; and sister, Gladys Parsons. Mr. Spence is survived by his sons, Alvin Spence and his wife, Shannon, Tracy Spence and his wife, Crystal, Shawn Spence and his wife, Sheri, and Johnny Spence; daughters, Betty Lou Hawks, and Angela Piersy; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 1, 2015 at the Hopewell Chapel of J. T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home and Cremation Service. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, February 2, 2015 also at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Appomattox Cemetery. Condolences may be registered at www.jtmorriss.com .
