John "Johnny" A. Glass, 76, of Dinwiddie, VA, was called home by his loving Savior on Tuesday, December 2, 2025. Born in Dinwiddie, VA, he was the son of the late Publius and Mary Ruth Glass; and was also preceded in death by his first wife, Linda Lee Glass; one brother, Albert "Tinker" Glass; and his dear friend, Herbert "Herb" Ridout. Johnny faithfully served his country in the United States Navy and was stationed on the U.S.S. Henley in Panama. After being honorably discharged from the Navy, Johnny went on to proudly retire from the United States Postal Service after 32 years of dedicated service. He was a lifetime member of Lebanon United Methodist Church, the Dinwiddie American Legion Post 149, Rocky Run Ruritan Club, and was a lifelong fan of the New York Yankees. Johnny is survived by his loving wife of 19 years, Janet Leigh Glass; two children, John Lee Armstead Glass, and Mary Elizabeth Mira and husband, Jose; two step-daughters, Mindy Blake Williams and husband, Matt, and Mandy Blaire Perkinson and husband, Paul; five grandchildren, Isaiah, Abraham, Finnley, Baylor, and Ellie; one brother, Steve Bailey Glass and wife, Chris; and too many other loving family and friends to mention. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., on Sunday, December 7, 2025, at Lebanon United Methodist Church. Interment will follow at Prospect Christian Church Cemetery, Dewitt, VA. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. The family is being served by the Dinwiddie Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Lung Association of Virginia, 9702 Gayton Rd., Henrico, VA 23238 or to Lebanon United Methodist Church, 12450 Courthouse Rd., Dinwiddie, VA 23841 in memory of Johnny Glass.
