Joann Elizabeth Wilde

Joann Elizabeth (Thiele) Wilde, 89, of Prince George, VA, passed away on December 31, 2024. She was born in Scribner, NE, on August 30, 1935, to the late John and Mary (Geiser) Thiele. She graduated from Guardian Angels Central Catholic School in West Point, NE.

Joann was married to the love of her life for 67 years, LTC (Ret) Marvlyn (Marv) Robert Wilde, who passed away on July 24, 2022. They were married in St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Hooper, NE.

Joann was a most generous, supporting, and loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She had a passion for sewing, gardening, reading, feeding the birds, and watching all the wildlife on her property (especially the deer and turkeys), but mostly enjoyed spending time with her family. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Joann is survived by her seven children, Monica Mullen (David), of Fishers, IN, Bill Wilde (JoAnn), of Sherwood, AR, Mike Wilde (Sheila), of Dinwiddie, VA, Rita Jackson, of Dinwiddie, VA, Frances Wargofcak (Charles), of Chester, VA, Barbara Struth (Raymond), of Hillsborough, NC, and John Wilde (Michelle), of Midlothian, VA; twelve grandchildren; and thirteen great-grandchildren.

Joann was preceded in death by her husband; sister, Mary Thiele Mahlberg; brother, James J. Thiele; and granddaughter, Hayleigh Michelle Wilde.
