Joan Scarborough

Joan Scarborough, 86, of Chester, passed away Monday, June 30, 2025. She was the daughter of the late Yates & Fannie Case; and was also preceded in death by her brother, Johnnie Case.

Born on September 21, 1938, in Waynesville, North Carolina, Joan was the beloved wife of the late Edgar Scarborough and a cherished mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

She is survived by her daughter, Denise Chandler (Marlon); grandchildren, Jonathan Chandler (Sharon) and Donald Chandler (Amy); great-grandchildren, Lainey Chandler and Patrick Chandler; and sister, Jean Berryman (Mike).

A funeral service will be held Monday, July 7, 2025, at 11:00 a.m., at the Chester Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home, with visitation an hour prior. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society.
