Jerry Haywood Dodson, Sr.

Jerry Haywood Dodson, Sr., 82, of Prince George, VA, passed away on Friday, February 21, 2025. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence Ernest Dodson and Dorothy Baird Stansell; stepfather, William C. Stansell; and son, Jerry Haywood Dodson, Jr. He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Mary Lynn Dodson; daughter, Traci Dodson; grandchildren, Nicole Dodson, Ashley Burton, and Britney Johnson; great-grandson, Jonathan Burton, Jr.; sister, Judy Brittingham; as well as, extended family and friends. Jerry served his country in the United States Army Reserve. He retired from the Virginia Department of Transportation in Richmond, VA. He was an avid hunter, loved gardening, and was dearly loved by his family and friends. The family would like to express their eternal gratitude to James River Hospice for their wonderful care of Jerry. All services will be private.
