Jeannette Atwater Hudson

Jeannette Atwater Hudson, 87, passed away on Friday, April 3, 2026. She was born and raised in Hopewell, VA to the late Arthur C. and Mabel Atwater. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Jerry L. Hudson, Sr.; her son, Jerry "Jay" L. Hudson, Jr.; and her brother, Robert "Bobby" A. Atwater, Sr.

Jeannette had a career in banking, and was well-versed in both earning and spending money. She was a proud member of the "Tap-Dancing Grannies" with her sisters. She loved to cook and bake and dote on her grandchildren. She is survived by her daughter, Jan "Missy" Vattelana; her grandchildren, Jason Lee Hudson, Sr., Shawn Anthony Vattelana (Whitney), Dylan Andrew Vattelana, and Donovan Lee Vattelana; her great-grandchildren, Cierra Hudson, Jason "JayJay" Lee Hudson, Jr. (Cayla), Noah Vattelana, and Leah Vattelana; her beloved great-great-grandchild, Jacob Hudson; her sisters, Jean Atwater Temple and Agnes Elizabeth Atwater; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
