Jean Love Hartley

Jean Love Hartley, 76, of Dinwiddie County, widow of James C. Hartley, passed away Sunday, October 27, 2013 at her residence. Born in Petersburg, she was the daughter of the late Alvin and Florence Archer Worley. She was also preceded in death by a son, Roy Lee Purdie, Jr. and a sister, Gayle Vaughan. Mrs. Hartley worked as a cashier at K & L Barbecue. She is survived by her children, Kenneth Purdie and wife, Linda, Cheryl Ann McNew and longtime companion, Allen Wood, and Ronald Purdie and wife, Becky; grandchildren, Michael McNew, Amy Bordeaux, Amy Langford, Ronald Wayne Purdie, Jr., Kenneth Edward Purdie, D. J. Purdie and Roy Lee Purdie, III, numerous great-grandchildren, and her siblings, Thomas Worley, Janet Kramm, and Jerry Worley. A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 30th at the Hopewell Chapel of J. T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home & Cremation Service.
