Jean 'Nugent' Barker, of Prince George County, Virginia, departed this life on May 15, 2025, after a hard-fought battle with chronic lung failure. Jean was born April 14, 1945, to the late Raymond N. Nugent, Sr. and Ruby Wright Nugent. She was also preceded in death by her beloved brothers, Raymond N. Nugent, Jr. "Buddy" and Kenneth W. She also worked in banking the first 15 years of her career.

Jean Barker stated: "It has been a true pleasure and honor to serve as the treasurer of Prince George County. I love this county and I am willing to do anything I can to help it stay a friendly and safe county to live in." She truly loved the citizens of Prince George County. Jean was one of the first Treasurers in the state of Virginia to receive the Master Governmental Treasurer Certification through the University of Virginia.
