Jayden Michael McComber, age 18, of Hopewell, VA, passed away in March 2026, leaving behind a legacy of love, kindness, and a spirit that touched everyone who knew him. Born January 15, 2008, Jayden was a student at Hopewell High School. He was known for being loving, kind, and incredibly smart - with a gentle strength and a presence that brought comfort and joy to others. His smile, his energy, and the way he cared for people will never be forgotten.
Jayden found happiness in traveling, especially on cruises and trips to Disney, where he created lasting memories filled with laughter, excitement, and love. He also enjoyed spending time with friends and family, swimming, listening to music, driving his truck, spending time adventuring outdoors, and playing video games. Above all, Jayden deeply loved his family and friends.
Jayden was preceded in death by his grandmother, Diane "Nana" Parker, and his grandfather, Robert Wayde McComber. He is survived by his mother, Brittany McComber; father, Jose Quinones; siblings, Jose and Brianna McComber; his girlfriend of three years, Abria Arthur; aunts and uncles and their spouses, Michael Cook (David Geckle), Amber McComber (Katelyn Breckley), David Cook (Charis Cook); his cousins, Alexis Abel, Jay'lyn Breckley, Zoey, Jace, Brantley and Kinsley Cook, Matthew Philips, and Storm Massenburg; and close friends, Jaiveon Williams, Zach Tolliver, and Messiah Jackson; and many more family and friends.
There will be a visitation for friends and family from 6:00pm to 8:00pm on Friday, April 10, 2026 at First Baptist Church Hopewell, 401 N 2nd Ave, Hopewell, VA 23860. A funeral service will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, April 11, 2026 at Hopewell High School, with an interment immediately following at Merchants Hope Memorial Gardens.
