Janis Falk Toombs, 86, of Carson, VA, widow of James Alton Toombs, passed away Thursday, April 23, 2015. Born in Emporia, VA, she was the daughter of the late Evander Alfred and Portia Agnes Taylor Falk. She was also preceded in death by four sisters and four brothers. In addition to working as a beautician for many years, Mrs. Toombs enjoyed sewing, crafts, gardening, and cooking. She also loved trips to the Outer Banks of North Carolina. She is survived by a daughter, Carol Toombs Eubank and husband, Douglas of Prince George; son, James Alton Toombs, Jr. and wife, Iris of Midlothian; grandchildren, Shelli Eubank Busby and husband, Britton, Eric Wayne Eubank and wife, Keri, James Alton “Trey” Toombs, III and wife, Brooks, and Jacob Adam Toombs; great-grandchildren, Sam and Janice Busby, and Anabel Eubank, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Monday, April 27, 2015 at the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home with Pastor Andy Rist of Oak Grove Baptist Church officiating. Interment will follow at Southlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
