Janet Harrison

Janet England Harrison, 70, of Prince George, VA, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, January 6, 2026. She was born to the late Edwin "Smithey" England and Georgia Zikes England, and was preceded in death by her sister, Eileen Mozucha.

Janet was a devoted member of West End Presbyterian Church and lived her life faithfully in service to the Lord. As a retired registered nurse, Janet dedicated more than 40 years of compassionate care to Petersburg Eye Center and later the Virginia Eye Institute. Janet was deeply devoted to her family and treasured every moment spent with them, especially while cheering on her children and grandchildren at their many sporting events.

She found great joy in tending her flower gardens, and could happily spend entire days searching for shells and shark teeth along the beach during family vacations where she especially loved watching her family enjoy the sand and surf. Earlier in life, she also enjoyed cross-stitching and other creative pursuits. Janet is survived by her loving husband, Henry "Chick" Harrison; her sons, Charles Valentine Harrison (Mollie), and William Henry Harrison; her beloved grandchildren, Claire Eva Harrison, and Charles Valentine Harrison, Jr.; siblings, Ann Marie Hess, Linda Jacob, and Mike England.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, January 9, 2026, at West End Presbyterian Church, 1600 Atlantic Street, Hopewell, VA 23860. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 10, 2026, also at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Janet's memory to West End Presbyterian Church or West End Christian School.
