James Herbert Moore, 69, of Chester, passed away on February 28, 2014. Born in Columbus, GA, he was the son of the late Herbert S. and Elmo Enniss Moore. Mr. Moore was a United States Army veteran having served as a helicopter mechanic, and was a member of the Divisions of Aviation and the Armored Division. Mr. Moore received many letters of recommendation throughout his military career to include, Crew Chief and Control Specialist, and was also awarded the Defense Service Medal. He is survived by his daughter, Farren M. Baer and husband, Thomas; two grandchildren, Lauren and Collin Brown; one sister, Margaret M. Mize; a niece, Melissa Desberg; one great-niece, Logan Desberg; one great-nephew, Trey Desberg. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 29, 2014 in Blandford Cemetery, Petersburg, VA. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Historic Blandford Cemetery Foundation, 250 S.
