James Daker Hardin

James Daker Hardin, 51, passed away on Sunday, May 24, 2026. He was born in Hopewell, VA, to Laura Adams Hardin and the late James Crawford Hardin. He is also preceded in death by his sister, Neicole Lewis; and his brother, Scott Barnes.James was a jack-of-all-trades. He loved to work, build, and play music. He was a dedicated father who loved all of his children.

He is survived by his devoted fiancée, Jessica; his children, Michael (Jennifer), Jeffrey Dyllion, Jessica Danielle, Jillian, Daker James; grandchildren, Bella, Chloe, Mia, Isaac, and Ezra; sisters, Melena and Joey; mother, Laura Adams Hardin (Robert); brother, Robert; nieces and nephews, Laura Sankey, James Sankey, Jordan Palma, Jessie Palma, Stephanie Klooz, Megan Barnes, David Barnes; and loving aunts, Holly Barnes and Rebecca Adams.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 30, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. at the Hopewell Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. The family will visit with friends one hour prior. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to the American Heart Association in James' name.
