Jackson Ray Pack, Sr.

July 27, 1951 — January 29, 2026

MY husband/partner/best MAN a girl could ask for of nearly 25 years has been relieved of all the pain and suffering he's endured without complaint.

A tough West Virginian to the absolute core, Jack was brought up right and proud in Jumping Branch, WV, by his late father, Cecil P. Pack and his late mother, Violet Mae (Maddy) Pack. He tried to share and encourage that pride and self confidence with the kids he coached in Little League football in Enon (where they won State Championship!) and Hopewell Virginia and ladies softball.

He worked long and hard hours for 31 years at Hercules/Aqualon/Ashland in Hopewell, sacrificing time with his family in order to provide a good life for them.

He's caught more fish and had more fun hunting rabbits than anybody I know. His friends and brothers, Robert L. Pack and the late Richard Cecil Pack will always remember Jack's die-hard commitment to boating and firearm safety. Jack and his sister, Kara (Pack) Wilson shared a tremendous, beautiful bond.

Next to being from West Virginia, Jack's greatest pride was his time in high school football. He played for the Hinton High School Bobcats (#53) and he was a big factor in the team winning the STATE CHAMPIONSHIP in 1968.

The man never met a stranger. He loved children. He always had a dollar or some small treat for every one he met. And he loved to talk. Jack was smart, clever, funny, compassionate, handsome, generous, strong, thoughtful, part-time cleptomaniac, a fantastic farmer/gardner, beagle lover ... And Thank Your for your Service. Six and half years in the Petersburg (VA) Army National Guard.

He is survived by two children; several grandchildren; many many friends; and one very heartbroken wife.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., on Friday, February 6, 2026, at the Chester Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. His wish is to be buried near his father in their family cemetery in West Virginia.
