Jackie Lee Taylor

February 14, 1953 — October 28, 2025

Jackie "Jack" Lee Taylor, known affectionately as Big Jack, Daddy, and Papa Jack, passed away peacefully on October 28, 2025, with his sons, whom he loved so fiercely, by his side. Born on Valentine's Day in 1953, it was fitting because Jack loved with his whole heart from the moment he entered this world.

Jack retired in 2006 after a long career as a Fixer at Philip Morris, where he was known for his relentless work ethic and willingness to stay as long as it took to get the job done. He poured pride into his work each and every day.

Music was Jack's heartbeat. He had a deep passion for playing guitar and singing, and he brought joy to countless moments through music, whether on a stage, at a gathering, or simply at home with family. He loved being out in the world, always on the go, surrounded by people and energy. Jack never met a stranger; he had a gift for making anyone feel welcome, important, and loved.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Vina Taylor; and his cousin, Sarah Hollars. He is survived by his sons, Christopher (Erika) and Justin (Kimberly); grandchildren, Evan, Leah, James, and Logan; grandchildren gained through Christopher's marriage, Christian, Nathalia, Alexa, Karina, and Melanie; his cousin, Gina (Jack); and his best friends, Wes and Linda Jo, who were family in every sense of the word.

Jack loved hard, his family, his friends, and the music that moved his soul. His presence was bold, warm, joyful, and unforgettable. To know him was to be loved by him.

A visitation for Jack will be held at the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son on Monday, November 3, from 6:00pm-8:00pm. A service will be held at his memorial in Southlawn Memorial Park on Wednesday, November 12, at 12:00pm.
