Jack Midford Becker, 85, of Chester passed away on Tuesday, June 10, 2014. Born in Pittsburgh, PA, he was the son of the late Henry A. and Esther M. Smithyman Becker and was preceded in death by his sons, Ricky Becker, Dwayne Cassell and Steven Cassell. He was a graduate of Carrick High School and graduated from Wofford College, Magna Cum Laude, with a Bachelors degree in Chemistry. Jack served his country proudly in the U. S. Army and retired as a Lt. Colonel in the Army Reserve, retired from ICI as a Chemist after 20 plus years of service. He was a member of Faith Tabernacle Church, and a member of the Gideon Prince George Camp. Jack enjoyed hunting and was considered an avid sportsman, loved gardening and spending time with his family and friends. He is survived by his wife, Joan Becker; children, Debbie Jackson and her husband, Dennis, Greg Cassell, Mark Becker; grandchildren, Michelle, Jeremy, Breeann, Heaven; 4 great grandchildren; brothers, Harry Becker, Richard Becker and his wife, Nancy; special nephews, Jack Becker and Rob Becker; several nieces, nephews and other extended family and friends. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, June 13, 2014 at the Hopewell Chapel of J. T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home and Cremation Service. A funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 14, 2014 also at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Bermuda Memorial Park. Condolences may be registered at
