Herman Montel Gettings, Sr.

Herman Montel Gettings, Sr., 93, of Chesterfield, VA, passed away on Sunday, June 8, 2025. Born in Richmond, VA, he was the son of the late William and Rosa Gettings; and was also preceded in death by three brothers, Willie, Otis, and James Gettings; and two sisters, Doris and Martha. Mr. Gettings is survived by his loving wife, Mary Ellen Gettings; two children, Herman "Bubba" M. Gettings, Jr. and Linda "Barbie" Gettings Deaton; three grandchildren, Misty Barker, Dusty Lemmings, and Stormy Crozier; and four great-grandchildren, Owen Keating, Aiden Crozier, Eli Crozier, and Halleey Crozier. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Tuesday, June 17, 2025, at the Chester Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., on Monday, June 16, 2025, at the funeral home.
