Herbert Louis Cornett (NEFUS) 94, passed away November 9, 2011 at the Colonial Heights Health Care Center. He was born in Blandford on March 24, 1917, one of the few remaining â??Blandford Boysâ?. He was preceded in death by his devoted wife of 61 years Dorothy Mary Smith Cornett. He was a World War II Veteran having served during the Battle of Normandy receiving a medal with three bronze battle stars, one silver battle star and a victory medal for meritorious service. Herbert retired from Brenco and was a member of Oakland Baptist Church. Left to cherish his memory is his daughter, Shirley Ing (Jim) and his son, Larry Cornett (Annie). â??Pa Paâ? will be forever remembered by his grandchildren, Scott, Shaun, James, Ivan, Anton and Max who adore him. A special heartfelt thank you to the staff at the Colonial Heights Health Care Center, Barbara Kindler, Janette Goodrich, Gary and Pearl Bidleman, and Lucy Moore who kept the pantry filled with everything, coconut, dadâ??s favorite. A visitation will be held from 12:00 noon â?? 1:00 pm Tuesday, November 15, 2011 followed by a graveside service 2:00 pm in Blandford Cemetery with the Dr. Glenn Browder officiating.
