H. Randolph “Randy” Jones Jr., aka “Big Daddy”, of Hopewell, passed away after a brief illness on July 21 at 71. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jeannette M. and H. Randolph Jones Sr., and a sister Susan J. Hunt. He is survived by his wife of 51 years Susan S. Jones; daughters Rebecca Redling and Paula J. Marks, son Henry R. Jones III and a brother A. Eric Jones. A graduate of Collingswood High in New Jersey, he attended West Chester State College and graduated from Richmond Professional Institute. Upon moving to Hopewell, he worked at Firestone before embarking on a distinguished career in real estate, where he was known for serving his clients ethically. He was an avid fisherman, a senior member of the Saltwater Anglers, loved spending time with his grandchildren Paul, Suzi and Izzy and cooking. He was a supporter of all things Hopewell, was past president of the Jaycees, Lion’s Club and Southside Board of Realtors. He was a Mason and auxiliary member of the VFW and American Legion. He was also a Son of the American Revolution. The family will have a private service at sea. In lieu of flowers, contributions made in Randy’s memory to John Randolph Foundation, P.O.
