Helen Wetherington Nugent

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Helen Wetherington Nugent, who passed away peacefully at the age of 95. Born on August 28, 1929, in Robersonville, North Carolina, Helen was the beloved wife of the late Harry Linwood Nugent, Sr., and a cherished mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

Helen was known for her love of gardening, spending countless hours tending to her flowers and plants. Her green thumb brought beauty and joy to all who visited her home. She was a woman of grace, kindness, and deep devotion to her family, and her legacy of love will live on through all who knew her.

Helen is preceded in death by her husband, Harry Linwood Nugent, Sr.; and by her son, Harry Linwood Nugent, Jr.

She is survived by her loving daughter, Deborah Grant, and her husband, Michael; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

A memorial service to celebrate Helen's life will be held on Wednesday, April 9, 2025, at 2:00 p.m., at the Hopewell Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home, with Pastor Pat Elder officiating. The family welcomes all who wish to honor her memory.
