Grace Elizabeth Scheid

Grace Elizabeth Scheid, 93, of Syracuse, passed away on Monday, April 21, 2014. Born in Brooklyn, New York, she was the daughter of the late Charles F. and Grace Seebach Rausch. She was also preceded in death by her loving husband, William Lester Scheid. Mrs. Scheid was a former parishioner of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, member of the Women’s Club of Petersburg, and volunteer member of the “Twigs” at Southside Regional Medical Center. She is survived by two sons, William “Guy” Scheid and Arthur Scheid; two daughters, Diane Stoetzer and Laura Ryder; nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am on Friday, April 25, 2014 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Petersburg, VA. The family will receive friends one hour prior at 10:00 am. Interment will follow in St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be donated to PACE CNY, 212 North Main Street, N. Syracuse, NY 13212.
