Glen Frank Cameron, 80, of Hopewell, VA passed away on Monday, March 21, 2016. He was preceded in death by his parents, John C. Cameron, Sr., and Elizabeth Atwater Cameron, and his brother, Carl Cameron. During his early years in Prince George County, Glen was a standout athlete and a nurturing brother to his siblings. Glen served in the United States Army as a military policeman and member of the National Rifle Team. He then carried on a family tradition as an outstanding brick mason and a journeyman of the Bricklayers Union. Glen was a member of Edwards Masonic Lodge #308 A.F. & A.M. and a lifelong member of Wesley United Methodist Church. He also recently attended First Congregational Christian Church. Glen loved adventure, especially travel and camping, and, as a gifted craftsman, was always willing to help family, friends, and community. Glen is survived by his wife of 59 years, Elaine Timbrook Cameron, daughters, Cathleen Nelson (William) Karen Cameron (Jeffrey), granddaughter Christine Poteet, grandson Glen Morrison, and great granddaughter Taylor Gall. He is also survived by siblings Luray Schilbe (George), John C. Cameron, Jr. (Ellen), Donald Cameron (Christine), Lewis Cameron, Juanita Jahnigen (David), and Joyce Branch (David), as well as numerous nieces and nephews and other extended family and friends. The family will receive friends from 6pm to 8pm on Thursday March 24, 2016 at the Hopewell Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home with a masonic service to be held at 6pm. A funeral service will be held at 11am on Friday March 25. 2016 at the funeral home with interment to follow in Merchants Hope Memorial Gardens.
