George Willis, known by many as Uncle George, departed this life on Tuesday, June 10, 2025, at the age of 82. He was born on December 3, 1942, in Richmond, Virginia, to the late Louis and Mae Willison.
George was preceded in death by his soul mate, Linda M. Willis, his wife of 50 years; three sisters; and five brothers.
He had a passion for working with wood. A plain piece of wood would come to life in the form of amazing furniture and cabinetry. George founded G.W. Woodworks with his wife next to him. His talent, along with his wife's artistic ability, enabled them to create many crafts sold in stores and at shows.
George also had a fondness for gardening; whether he was planting vegetables or flowers, his green thumb always showed.
George leaves behind to cherish his memory, his sister, Louise Tiller; brother-in-law, Jimmy May (Sue); along with numerous nieces and nephews.
George was a blessing to all who knew him. His memory will forever burn in the hearts of those that loved him. Treasured keepsakes of his enduring love, his ray of light that guided us through our lives. Free from the burdens of this world, may you rest in peace. No goodbyes, until we meet again.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, June 18, 2025, from 6:30-8:00 p.m., at the Chester Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home, 3050 West Hundred Road, Chester.
