George Edward Wells

George Edward Wells, Sr., 85, of Dinwiddie County, passed away Friday, July 4, 2014. Born in Isle of Wight County, VA, he was the son of the late George William and Annie Bryant Wells. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Alma Beatrice Wells. He was the retired owner of G.E. Wells Contracting. Mr. Wells is survived by his children, George E. Wells, Jr. and wife, Tina, Michael Wells, Debbie Rainey, Allen W. Wells and wife, Michelle, and Cindy A. Wells, 13 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren; sister, Leafy Edwards, and his devoted companion, Helen Slaughter. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday, July 7, at the Petersburg Chapel of J. T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home & Cremation Service. A graveside funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at Blandford Cemetery.
