George Hunter Self

George Hunter Self, 61, of Prince George, VA, passed away on November 22, 2024. Born to the late Hunter and Joan Self.

George was the owner and operator of George Self Lawn Service for over 40 years. He was also a member of the Chester Baptist Church, as well as, the American Legion Post 146, in Hopewell, VA.

He will be remembered by his family as a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend.

George is survived by his wife of 40 years, Sherry L. Self; children, Crystal Gitchell and Brandon Self; granddaughter, Violet Gitchell; and his sister, Kim Estep.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 7, 2024, at 10:00 a.m., at Chester Baptist Church, 4317 School Street, Chester, VA 23831.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are welcome to the American Legion Post 146, or to the Chester Baptist Church.
