Gene Hiers Gaskins

Gene Hiers Gaskins, 74, of Prince George passed away on Wednesday, October 29, 2014. Born in Bamberg, S. C., he was the son of the late Pete and Mildred Cave Gaskins and was preceded in death by his three sisters and two brothers. Gene recently retired from Kozak Beverage and Prince George County Transportation as a school bus driver. He had a passion for a variety of music and worked as a DJ in the Richmond area for many years. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Lois Gaskins; three daughters, Angela M. Gates and her husband, Todd, Belinda S. Ashmore and her husband, Darryle, Valerie F. Bishop and her husband, Dale; five grandchildren, Courtney Gates Abraham, Brittany Gates, Matthew Ashmore, Adam Hiers Ashmore, Kyle Bishop; one great-grandson, Kole Mason Abraham; numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 1, 2014 at the Hopewell Chapel of J. T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home and Cremation Service. Interment will be private.
