Franziska J. Tawney

Franziska Jolanda Tawney, 80, of Hopewell, passed away on October 5, 2012. She was the daughter of the late Georg and Franziska nee Bertato Schuster, and was also preceded in death by a son and two brothers. She was retired from Solar Optical in Colonial Heights after 16 years of service, and was also a member of the Hopewell Moose Lodge. Mrs. Tawney is survived by her husband, Sidney Tawney; a son, Alfred E. Erny, Sr. and wife, Barbara; two grandchildren, Alfred E. Erny, Jr, and Traci D. Mckee and husband, Jameson B. Sr.; five great-grandchildren, Alfred E. Erny, III, KC Dawn Erny, Madanna M. Mckee, Jameson B. Mckee, Jr. and William K.A. Mckee; and a sister Herta Thomas. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, October 8, 2012 at the Hopewell Chapel of J.T. Morriss and Son Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Southlawn Memorial Park, Prince George, VA.
