Frances Jane Reames

Frances J. Reames, 68, a lifelong resident of Dinwiddie County, died Thursday, July 11, 2013. She was the daughter of the late Mary and David Hawkins and was also preceded in death by five sisters, Katherine Garrett, Lucille Garrett, Martha Gooch, Rosa Tatum and Nettie Lee Hawkins, and three brothers, David Hawkins, Jr., Douglas Hawkins and Mac Hawkins; and fiancé, James C. “Jimmy” Howard. She is survived by her children, Carol Nelson (Gus), Debbie Fullhart (Ed), Glenn Reames, and Wayne Reames (Phyllis); grandchildren, Ryan Nelson (Diana), Zachary Nelson, Justin Torres, Kyle Torres, Juanita Thomas (Randy), and Crystal Andrews; three sisters, Jean Reeves of Kenbridge, Alice Hawkins of Petersburg, and Rose McCaffity (Billie) of McKenney; one brother, Clarence Hawkins of DeWitt, and numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Friday, July 19 from 6 to 8 PM at the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. A graveside funeral service will be held Saturday, July 20 at 10 AM in Asbury Cemetery, McKenney with the Rev. Robert Rowland officiating, followed by a reception at Smyrna Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers donations may be sent to the Smyrna Baptist Church Building Fund, 18725 Carson Road, Dinwiddie VA 23841.
