Frances Livesay Anderson

December 8, 1923 — April 12, 2015

Mrs. Frances Livesay Anderson, 91, of Petersburg, went to be with the Lord on Sunday April 12, 2015. She was the daughter of the late John William and Blanche Ercelle Spain Livesay. Mrs. Anderson was preceded in death by her husband Thomas Norwood Anderson Sr. and Donald Jack Bortner; three brothers, Bernard A., J. Kilby, and Harry A. Livesay; and four sisters, Mildred Livesay, Hazel Stripp, Wilma Howlett, and Ruth Burnham. She was born on December 8, 1923 in Petersburg, VA where she grew up and attended Petersburg schools. She has since resided in the Chesapeake and Windsor VA area until 2012 when she moved to Blacksburg VA. She retired from Standard Drug. She was an avid gardener and bird-watcher. She will be remembered for loving to sing, studying the Bible, and her great wit and sense of humor! Mrs. Anderson was a true believer in the Lord and was an active member in her local church: Elm Street Baptist – Petersburg, VA; Great Bridge Baptist – Chesapeake, VA; Tucker Swamp Baptist – Zuni, Va. She and her late husband Andy (Thomas) enjoyed serving the Lord in the Gideons International Organization. Left to cherish her memory is a daughter, Lisa A. White and husband Glenwood of Carrsville VA; a son Joseph H. Anderson and wife, Colly of Riner (Blacksburg) VA, and daughter Sam S. Anderson-Falcon of Cross Anchor SC; six grandchildren, Daniel White, Joanna White-Bialet and husband Juan all of Richmond VA, Joshua, Hannah and Abigail Anderson of Riner VA, Justin Kirkman of Minneapolis MN; as well as many loving nieces and nephews. A graveside memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, April 18, 2015 at Blandford Cemetery, Petersburg, VA.
