Fletcher Floyd Mawyer, Jr., passed away May 3, 2026. He was born June 25, 1948, to Fletcher Floyd Mawyer, Sr. and Marie (Fulford) Mawyer. He served in the Army in the Vietnam War in Korea and was later a forklift operator for Honeywell Corp.
Fletcher is preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Lillian Saunders, Mildred Mawyer, and Shirley Bradley; brother, Thurman Mawyer; and special cousin, Eddie Mawyer.
Left to cherish his memory until they are reunited include his loving wife of 59 years, Hazel Owen Mawyer; son, Fletcher Mawyer III (Crystal); daughter, Mary Wilkinson (Kelly); grandchildren, Branden, Justin (Kelsey), Jessica, and Katelyn; and great-grandchildren, Brycen, Sage, and Riley; surviving brother, Warren Mawyer; special cousins, Annie St. Clair, Stacy Simpkins, and Debbie Kane; brother-in-law, Joe Owen (Mary Anne); Elva and Stacy; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and other extended family and friends.
A memorial service will take place on Saturday, May 9, 2026, at 2:00 p.m., at the Chester Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the MCV Heart Unit. The family would like to give a special thanks to Bayada Hospice Services for their excellent care and compassion.
