Evelyn Sheriff Bouchard, 72, of Hopewell, passed away on Monday, July 30, 2012 at JRMC after a long illness. She was an employee of Firestone for ten years; and worked for John Randolph Nursing Home for seventeen years as a nursing assistant. Mrs. Bouchard loved to read and dance. She had a quirky sense of humor, and was called the Bingo Queen. She was born on March 7, 1940, she was the daughter of the late Ada Smith Christian and Conly F. South, and stepfather, Alvie Christian. Mrs. Bouchard is also preceded in death by a sister, Helen Gavin; and a brother, Clarence South. She is survived by her husband, Patrick Joseph Bouchard of Hopewell, VA; two daughters, Katrinia N. Sheriff, Polly A. Hosey and husband, Richard L., daughters, Heather V. Hosey and Amy L. Hosey, son, Alvie Joseph Bouchard and his daughter, Alexis T. Bouchard; four sisters, Irene Martin and her husband, Andrew, Nerlene Collins, Mary Ellen Water and her husband, John, Marie Walker; and two brothers, Richard South, and Darrell Mariani. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 1, 2012 at the Hopewell Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 2, 2012 at the funeral home, with Mr. Roddy Chestnut officiating. Interment will follow at Bermuda Memorial Park.
