Eva Mae McKenney

Eva Mae McKenney, 79, of Hopewell, VA, peacefully passed away on December 23, 2024, from a long illness. She was born in Temple, Texas on January 31, 1945, to the late Eugene Preston Nelson and Mae Elizabeth Thornton. She was preceded in death by husband, Robert Ray McKenney, in 2020.

She was a member of Broadway Baptist Church. Eva dedicated her life to the Lord, as well as being a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She loved to cook and clean, and she loved her pets. Leaving behind to treasure her memories are one daughter, Theresa Fishburne (Jermaine Fishburne), of North Prince George, VA; one son, Robert Clifton; one brother, Eddie Nelson, of San Antonio, Texas; one sister, Francis Nelson, of Killeen, Texas; granddaughter, Alyssa Brown, of North Prince George, VA; along with several other grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

A memorial service for Eva will be held on Saturday, January 25, 2025, at 3 PM, at the Hopewell Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. The family is being served by the Hopewell Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home.
