Eugene Caraway Nelson Jr.

Eugene Carraway Nelson, Jr., 78, of Chester, Va, passed away on Monday, November 4, 2013. He was the son of the late Eugene Carraway and Myra Bobbitt Nelson; and was preceded in death by sister, Betty Jean Mason Lewis; and brother, James Robert Nelson. Mr. Nelson was a U.S. Navy and Air Force veteran. He was a member of Hopewell Moose Lodge, American Legion Post #284, Chester Masonic Lodge #94 A.F. & A.M., ACCA Shriners Temple, Order of the Eastern Star in Chester, and the square dance club. Mr. Nelson is survived by his son, Eugene C. Nelson, III; a brother, Benjamin Gray Nelson; sister in Christ, Darrell Ann Belcher; and numerous nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 7, 2013 at the Chester Chapel of J.T. Morriss and Son Funeral Home with Rev. Dr. Lloyd Braswell, officiating.
