Ervin “Nat” Nathaniel Hios, 62, of Hopewell, passed away on Tuesday, August 4, 2015. Born in Wilmington, Delaware, he was the son of the late James Rudolph Hios, Sr. and Earlene Canter Rackley. Nat was a proud veteran having served his country in the United Sates Army. After the military he went on to work for the Hopewell Fire Department retiring after 35 years as Battalion Chief. He was a member of the Hopewell Moose Lodge #1472 and the American Legion #146. Nat enjoyed traveling, boating, and spending time at the beach. He will be missed by his family and friends. He is survived by his beloved wife of 43 years, Deborah Hios; children, Tamara Bolte (Mike), Justin Hios (Kelly), and Teresa Hios; grandchildren, Ethan Bolte and Savannah Bolte; siblings, James Rudolph Hios, Jr., Rebecca Loving (David), Joey Michael Hios (Beverly), Timothy Shoda (Karen), Sheila Massingale (David), Ronald Rackley, Jr. (Donna), and Charlene Rackley; step-father, Ronald Rackley, Sr.; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends. The family will receive friends from 12:30 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Friday, August 7, 2015 at the Hopewell Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. A funeral service will be conducted immediately following at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Park.
