Ernest Rudolph Zikes, Jr. (Bud/Bubba), 80, of Prince George, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 16, 2015, after a lengthy battle with cancer. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest R. Zikes, Sr. and Anna Brice Zikes; and his sister, Georgie Zikes England. Bud was a retired millwright from Allied Chemical/Honeywell in Chesterfield. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corp, serving as a guard at the “Summer” White House in Colorado under President Eisenhower. He then served proudly in the U.S. Air Force, and later in the Marine Corp Reserve. Later in life he was a member of the Coast Guard Auxiliary. He was a member of American Legion Post 146. He is survived by his three children daughter, Cheryl Zikes Sebera (Dennis), Ernest R. (Skip) Zikes III (Gillian), and Mark L. Zikes (Phyllis); five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and faithful friend Alan S. Foster. He also leaves behind his faithful dog Bear. A memorial service will be held at the Hopewell Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home on Saturday, July 18, 2015 at 7:00 P.M. The family will receive friends starting at 6:00 P.M.
