Emma Smith

Emma Ella Roeder Smith, 86, of Chesterfield, passed away July 31, 2012. She was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Clarence I. â??Buddyâ? Smith, Jr. She is survived by her son, Clarence â??C.I.â? Smith, III and his wife, Regina; her daughter, Carrie Schmidt and her husband, Chuck; her brother, Charles Roeder of Smithfield, Va.; her granddaughters, Brittany and Stephanie Smith; and several nieces and nephews. Emma retired from the U.S. Army Logistics Center at Fort Lee. She found great joy in helping others and writing of lifeâ??s little adventures. She was devoted to God, her family, and her cherished friends. The family will receive friends on Thursday, August 2, 2012 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Chester Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held Friday, August 3, 2012 11:00 a.m. at Sunset Memorial Park, 2901 West Hundred Road, Chester, Va., in the Mausoleum.
