With a spirit of strength and a heart full of love, Elizabeth Ann Walton passed away on June 8, 2024, surrounded by her family, after a long and courageous battle with illness.
Born in Hopewell, Virginia in 1944, Ann grew up to be the quiet strength of her family, a constant source of comfort and support for those around her. As the beloved wife of Wayne Walton for 58 years, she was his partner in every sense of the word. Together, they shared countless adventures, heartbreaks, laughter, and memories that will be cherished by their loved ones forever.
As a mother to Mary and Kenny, Ann was the embodiment of love and devotion. She poured her heart and soul into raising her children, providing all the opportunities that allowed them to grow and thrive. Her unwavering dedication to her family was the foundation upon which their lives were built.
In addition to her roles as wife and mother, Ann was also a hardworking and dedicated employee of Hercules for 25 years. Her work ethic was remarkable, with only one day missed for illness during her entire tenure. She was a favorite among coworkers for her gentle manner and cooperative spirit. Her passion for homemaking was evident, from the warmth and coziness she brought to her home to the countless hours she spent preparing meals and activities for quality time with her family and friends.
Ann's love for family and being a mother and wife was unmatched. She had a special gift for making everyone feel loved and supported, whether it was through a thoughtful note, a warm hug, or a shopping trip to pick up something special. Her favorite place to be was on a sunny beach, where she could be free to soak up the sun and participate in the many activities she enjoyed like boat-riding, fishing, dancing the shag under the beach pavilion, and picking crabs at the nearest picnic table. And during the holiday season, she was in her element, busy decorating and preparing a tower of gifts and treats for those she loved.
Ann is survived by her husband, Wayne Walton; brother, Ben Bishop (Tina); nephew, Nathan Bishop; daughter, Mary Walton Koronkowski (Allen); son, Kenny Walton (Wendy); grandchildren, Chris Koronkowski, Chase Koronkowski, Jenna Koronkowski, Taylor Walton Craddock (Ed); great-grandson, Chandler Craddock; and many extended cousins.
She was preceded in death by her beloved brother, Ronald Adams; mother, Mary Bishop; father, John Adams; and step-father, John Bishop.
As we say goodbye to this remarkable woman, we take comfort in the memories we shared with her. Elizabeth Ann Walton may have been the quiet strength of our family, but her impact remains an important cornerstone.
