Elizabeth W. Pinkleton, "Liz", 95, of Dinwiddie County, went home to Heaven on Wednesday, July 23, 2025.
She was preceded in death by her parents, J.R. Williamson and Frances Williamson; her husband of 67 years, W. Franklin Pinkleton; her sister, Dot Barfield; and her brothers, Rudolph Williamson, Arnold Williamson, and Ray Williamson.
Elizabeth was a graduate of Dinwiddie High School and went on to work at the bank and then as a bookkeeper at Southside Candy Company in Petersburg. During this time, she also began raising her family, who can attest that she was the hardest worker they know.
Elizabeth was a member of New Hope Baptist Church, as well as the Dinwiddie Diamonds. In her free time, she enjoyed tending to her flowers, spending time in fellowship with members of her church, and fixing wonderful meals to share with her family and friends - including one of a kind apple butter and watermelon rind pickles. Her family will remember her as a very devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who supported her family in every way possible.
Elizabeth is survived by her children, Randy Pinkleton, Rick Pinkleton (Penny), and Susan Humphries; grandchildren, Chris Pinkleton (Kirstin), Jaci Pinkleton, Luke Humphries (Haley), Alex Pinkleton, Jonathan Humphries (Sierra Hodo), and Hannah Humphries; great-grandchildren, Elias Humphries and Benji Humphries; brothers, Bernard Williamson (Phyllis), Calvin Williamson, and Alfred Lee Williamson (Georgiana); daughter-in-law, Debbie Nichols; son-in-law, Wesley Humphries; and extended family members and friends.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, July 29, 2025, from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM, at New Hope Baptist Church, 6030 Woodpecker Road, where a service will be held at 11:00 AM. Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to New Hope Baptist Church.
