Elizabeth B. Hobbs, 93, of Prince George, Virginia, died Saturday, February 8, 2025. Born and raised in Windsor, Virginia, she was the daughter of Charles Lofton Braswell and Anna Cobb Braswell. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.
She worked at Allied Chemical in Chesterfield for 28 years. She also worked for Prince George County Schools for 20 years in food service. Her favorite hobby was gardening, and she spent most days in her vegetable garden. She enjoyed giving away her homegrown produce to loved ones, and she delighted in cooking for her family and friends.
Elizabeth is preceded in death by her loving husband of 67 years, Harry H. Hobbs; parents, Charles Braswell and Anna Braswell; brother, Tom Braswell; and sister, Mae Joyner. She is survived by her three children, Kaye Mcdaniel (Farron), Kathy Stell (David), and TC Hobbs; as well as eight grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. She also leaves many nieces, nephews, and extended family members who will miss her dearly.
Funeral services will be conducted by the Hopewell Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son, in Hopewell, Virginia, on Tuesday, February 18, 2025, at 11am. The family will receive friends Monday, February 17, 2025, from 6-8pm. Pastor Gibby Elder will officiate the service. Interment will follow at Southlawn Memorial Park, 1911 Birdsong Road, South Prince George, Virginia.
