Elaine Wendy Friedman

Elaine Wendy Friedman, beloved wife, mother, and friend, passed away peacefully on August 9, 2025. Born in Colonial Heights, Virginia, to Herbert and Helen Solomon, Wendy was the devoted wife of Frank Robert Friedman for 59 years. Wendy was the loving mother of Jodi Lynn Friedman Woods and her cherished son-in-law, James Patrick Woods. She was the sister of the late Larry E. Solomon. After attending nursing school in Petersburg, Virginia, Wendy pursued a career in private nursing, where her compassion and dedication touched many lives. Most of her life was spent generously giving her time and talents, always ready to help others. A devoted member of Temple Brith Achim, Wendy served on several committees and lovingly ran the temple gift shop for many years. She had a keen eye for fashion, a deep love for animals, and was an avid reader. Above all, her greatest joy came from time spent with her family. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Tuesday, August 12, 2025, at Brith Achim Cemetery, 545 S. Crater Road, Petersburg, Virginia. May her memory be a blessing and live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
