Edwin "Ed" Fred Ryder

Edwin “Ed” Fred Ryder, 92, of Chesterfield, passed away on Wednesday, July 10, 2013. Born in Wilkes-Barre, PA, he was the son of the late Edwin and Edna Ryder. He was also preceded in death by his loving wife, Doris Ryder; and daughter, Sharon Woodcock. Ed was a proud veteran in the United States Navy having served during WWII and a faithful member of Belmont United Methodist Church for many years. He is survived by his two sons, Larry Ryder and Mark Ryder; daughter, Terry Ryder; seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Friday, July 12, 2013 at the Chester Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Saturday, July 13, 2013 at the funeral home. Flowers are welcome or memorial contributions may be donated to Belmont United Methodist Church, 3510 Broad Rock Blvd., Richmond, VA 23234. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Park.
