Edward Montgomery Smiley

Edward Montgomery Smiley, of Hopewell, Va. passed away on Monday, January 12, 2015. Born in Petersburg, Virginia he was the son of the late Benjamin M. Smiley and Goldena Mae Fair Smiley. He is survived by his wife, Mary Lou Smiley; sons, Michael Smiley and his wife, Michelle, Mark Smiley and his wife, Tonya; grandchildren, Sydney, Wesley, Ashley, Alivia, and Sheldon; sister, Ginger Riddle and her husband, Larry; mother-in-law, Ruby “Pearl” Simmons; sister-in-law, Kathy Jenkins and her husband, Glenn; brother-in-law, Wayne Simmons; and a niece, nephews and other extended family and friends. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 15, 2015 at South Hopewell Church of God, 2300 Bluefield Street, Hopewell, Va. 23860. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 16, 2015 also at the church. Interment will follow in Merchants Hope Memorial Gardens.
