Edna Anthony Pritchard

Edna Anthony Pritchard, 99, passed away on Sunday, November 2, 2025, at Summit Square Retirement Community in Waynesboro, VA. Born October 9, 1926, in Augusta, GA, Edna moved to Hopewell, VA, after graduating from the University of Georgia, and married the late Chalmer L. Pritchard. Edna ran a ladies clothing store in downtown Hopewell, known as Carole Lane Fashions, for many years.

Edna lived out her faith and spent her life in the service of others always putting the needs of others before her own. She was truly loved by her family and those who knew her well. She has a large impact on those at Summit Square and will be remembered for her kindness, love, and sense of humor.

She is survived by her three children, Chalmer L. Pritchard, Jr., Lane A. Pritchard (Robin), and John M. Pritchard; and her granddaughter, Mary Dale Pritchard-Reid (Jacob). She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Kiser and Alma Anthony; as well as her beloved sister, Joan Tuten.

A private graveside service will be held by the family. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to First Baptist Church, 401 N. 2nd Ave, Hopewell, VA 23860.
