Edith Fuzy Toney, 81, of Prince George, VA, passed away on Friday, March 20, 2026. She was welcomed into Heaven by her husband of 48 years, Richard Earl Toney, Sr.; her parents, Louis Arpad Fuzy and Edith Virginia Fuzy; and brothers, Louis, Victor, and Ernest Fuzy.
Edith was a 1964 graduate of Hopewell High School. She then had a long career as a material handler at the Ace Hardware Warehouse. She was a member of The Heights Baptist Church. She enjoyed gardening, doing yard work, watching the soap opera Days of Our Lives, and she loved Elvis. She was "a good girl, crazy bout Elvis, loved Jesus and America too." She was as if all of the Golden Girls were rolled into one.
She is survived by her children, Richard Earl Toney, Jr., James Edward Toney (Shannon), and April Toney O'Neill (Luigi); grandchildren, Richard Earl Toney III (Stephanie), Dustin Ray Toney, Gavin Blake Toney, Brycen Alexander Toney, Coby Sean O'Neill, and Caden Layne O'Neill; and great-grandson, Bradley Samson Toney.
A visitation will be held from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Monday, March 30, 2026 at the Hopewell Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at noon on Tuesday, March 31, 2026 at The Heights Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Bermuda Memorial Park.
