Edith Josephine Keen, 84, of Hopewell, Virginia, passed away at home on November 6, 2025. Edith was born in Salzburg, Austria, to the late Georg and Maria Müller. Edith lived a life deeply rooted in her Catholic faith, which was a cornerstone of her existence.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, the love of her life, Ronnie Nelson Keen, in 2021; her sister, Sieglinde Gruber; her beloved aunt, Aloisia Empl; and her beloved godmother, Josefine Seeleitner.
She is survived by daughters, Patricia Johnson, of Stone Mountain, Georgia, Jacqueline (Paul) Moyer, of Wasilla, Alaska, and Beverly Keen, of Henrico, Virginia; son, Michael Keen of N. Dinwiddie, Virginia; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; sisters, Helma, of Texas, Gudrun of Austria, and Margit of Austria; and many nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind a host of other relatives and cherished friends.
A funeral mass will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday, November 25, 2025, at St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church in Dinwiddie. Interment will follow at Appomattox Cemetery in Hopewell. There will be a rosary prior to the mass.
