Douglas Roger Swift

Douglas Roger Swift, 79, passed away on November 26, 2025. He was born and raised in Hopewell, Virginia, to the late Robert Jr. and late Frances Swift. He was also married to the late Patricia Woodard; and previously to the late Mary Ellen Pulley.

Douglas is survived by his son, David Swift; sister, Doris Blevins; nieces, Laura Sylvester (Anthony), Christy Jones, and Melanie Jones; great-niece, Sydney Sylvester; great-nephews, Jack and Samuel Sylvester, Aaron Jones (Darcy) and their son, Anson.

He was a longtime member of First Baptist Church, in Hopewell, VA.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, January 29, 2026, at 11:00 a.m., at the Hopewell Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. Interment will follow at 3:00 p.m., at Virginia Veterans Cemetery at Amelia.
